It can be freely said that our consumers do not enjoy excessive state protection, nor is there an awareness of citizens about how much they really have rights in relation to traders, and especially in relation to public utility companies. Namely, although our country has so far implemented most European Union Directives in our legislation, we can say that the implementation of the Consumer Protection Act is insufficient, which has resulted in the creation of “mass lawsuits” of citizens in court for violations of consumer rights.

Our office has a lot of experience with these lawsuits, so we can say that by representing a lot of clients, it managed to get one utility company to cancel an item from the a bill that it illegally
charged and compensate the citizens for over one million euros. On the other hand, although the Law on Consumer Protection does not apply to companies, due to poor regulation of public
companies, it is not uncommon for companies to be damaged by illegal billing for services provided by public companies, so our office has such experiences where it represents many legal
entities in court proceedings against public companies.

In any case, it is reasonable to expect an increase in consumer awareness of their rights, as well as a greater role of courts in implementing the norms of the Consumer Protection Act, which is
why it is necessary for traders to regulate their business in the manner prescribed by law.
